The Apothecary’s Awakening

A druid awakens – and with him, the ancient wisdom in a play of light, nature, and architecture.

This project tells the story of the awakening of an ancient spirit – a druid,

guardian of knowledge – and invites the audience on a sensory journey

through time, plants, and the architecture of the Alte Suidtersche Apotheke.

The experience begins in darkness with The Awakening: the wooden

sculpture of the druid comes to life, his body cracking with light, his eyes

igniting, and a rain of golden pollen spreading across the walls, heralding

the reactivation of ancestral wisdom.

Jésus Baptista

Jésus Baptista is part of the 2022-2024 cohort at the contemporary art studio Le Fresnoy. In June 2016, he obtained his national diploma in visual arts from the Haute École des arts du Rhin, specializing in Visual Didactics. Subsequently, he developed his practice in VJing and mapping, alongside video and light projection techniques, which have become the primary components of his artistic
approach. Baptista’s immersive installations have been exhibited at prestigious events.
